OVERVIEW
XMC is looking for an experienced Hospitality & Event Coordinator who is ready to take on new and exciting challenges with Canada’s Official Experiential MarketingTM Agency.
The Hospitality & Event Coordinator will work on a variety of Sobeys Corporate projects and hospitality programs (Corporate Events, Employee Engagement, Holiday Celebrations and other Internal Marketing Events) in collaboration with the account team as required by the Account Manager or Director.
This role includes contributing as required to the successful execution of programs and projects within the parameters of the overall client corporate strategy including peer/employee engagement and high-end hospitality. A typical day may include developing gift packages (including sourcing elements and coordinating shipping/handling), organizing hospitality events (including sourcing locations, organizing food/beverage and arranging décor), training brand ambassadors, being onsite at an event, participating in client meetings and collaborating with colleagues.
In addition to managing the logistics of a program, the candidate should be able to provide forward-thinking to help enhance our client’s program as well as the agency as a whole.
Accountabilities also include successful client interface and relationship management. As an XMC team member, the Hospitality & Event Coordinator demonstrates collaboration, strives for excellence and always looks to better the agency and improve effectiveness overall.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

Contribute to the on-time and on-budget delivery of client programs including daily/weekly reporting, planning, project management, and execution.

Successful client interface and relationship building.

Contribute to client strategy and program plan including providing innovative ideas, exploring new opportunities for client success, and continuous improvement.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIRED
Related university degree, college diploma or equivalent industry experience
Experience in hospitality
One-two years of hospitality experience
Strong team player and collaborates with others to achieve shared goals
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Can work effectively under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to apply analytical thinking to daily and weekly client reports
Takes initiative and is self-motivated
Positive attitude
Demonstrates dedication to client satisfaction and program success
Holds a valid driver’s license
