POSITION OVERVIEW


Junior accountant working closely with the Finance Director will be responsible for performing the day- to-day processing of various accounting transactions as well as providing support on improvement

projects and initiatives to ensure the company’s financial processes, planning, reporting, and analytics to

best support the company and its team.


DUTIES

  • Payroll administration including collection, verification, processing of payroll, maintenance of appropriate records, and the preparation of related journal entries.

  • Perform daily accounting duties, including but not limited to, invoice creation and processing, AR, AP, filing of receipts and supporting documentation.

  • Processing bi-weekly XSS payroll & ROEs for full time and part time employees.

  • XSS Payroll year-end reporting including the processing of employee tax slips (T4, Releve-1).

  • Bank and Visa account reconciliations.

  • Maintain the General Ledger and prepare general and ad-hoc reports.

  • Employee expense reports administration and processing with SAP Concur software.

  • Review, investigate and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents, and expense reports.

  • Maintain historical records by filing documents and keeping the physical and/or online filing system current.

  • May be conducting training to Staffing Coordinator(s) and/or intern(s) in onboarding, scheduling, and processing payroll.

  • Perform other administrative duties as required.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • College’s degree or greater in accounting or finance.

  • 1-2 years’ experience with full-cycle accounting for small & medium sized companies.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in the use of relevant computerized and cloud-based financial accounting systems. Experience with QuickBooks Online an asset.

  • Intermediate proficiency for MS Excel and other MS applications.

  • Experience in Ceridian Powerpay and/or Dayforce an asset.

  • Experience in SAP Concur and/or SAP Business One ERP an asset.

  • Ability to prioritize workloads and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Dedicated to teamwork, client/customer service and professionalism.


HYBRID WORK

  • This position offers a Hybrid work schedule. You will be required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week, with the ability to work from home for the remainder of the time (subject to specific business needs requiring office attendance). Training will take place in office.

  • When working from home, a reliable internet connection is required. Remote work is supported with cloud-based applications and collaboration tools.


TRAINING

  • 1 month training will be provided.
